The café’s naming and continued partnership with MSK marks the next chapter of the prestige omni-retailer’s thirteen-year commitment to skin care research through the donation of their beloved Sun Safety Kit

December 13, 2019 / San Francisco – Yesterday, Sephora and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) unveiled the grand opening of Sephora Café 6 in the new David H. Koch Center for Cancer Careat Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. The naming of the café marks the continuation of their partnership and joint commitment to raising awareness for skin care and sun protection and raising funds for skin cancer research. The event kicked off with remarks from Craig B. Thompson, MD, President and CEO of MSK; Jedd Wolchok, MD, PhD, Chief of the Immuno-Oncology Service at MSK; and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

This marks the thirteenth year of Sephora’s Sun Safety initiative, through which the retailer has donated more than $8 million for skin cancer research.

“On behalf of Sephora, we are honored to receive this recognition,” said Priya Venkatesh, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for Skincare and Hair for Sephora. “The Sun Safety Kit has become a yearly favorite for our customers for product discovery.  Through this annual initiative, Sephora and our brand partners are deeply committed to spreading awareness, ongoing education, and aiding important cancer research happening at Memorial Sloan Kettering.”

Sephora Café 6 is open Monday – Friday from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and weekends 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to provide a comfortable and welcoming place for patients, families and staff.
